The Latham Island Paddle Race is brought to you by the Somba K’e Paddling Club and the Yellowknife Multisport Club. The race begins and ends at the Latham Island Causeway August 17, 2019. Check-in at 1:00, race starts at 1:30.
Choose a teammate and grab a canoe or you can go solo in a kayak or hop on a paddle board!
This race began as an argument whether it was possible to paddle around Latham Island in Under 20 minutes. Many have tried, a few have come close but to date no one in memory has broken the 20 minute barrier. Give it your best shot in earn a place in the Yellowknife Folklore as the paddle that finally settled the age long debate.
