Established in 1999, the Somba K’e Paddling Club is a registered not-for profit organization operating in Yellowknife, NT. Our mission is to develop and promote the sport of paddling in the Yellowknife area for folks of all ages and experience levels.
We focus on access and development of paddling routes; education and instruction of skills, safety, and respect for the land and water; and, social support and connections for YK paddlers. We strive to collaborate with local businesses and non-profit organizations to promote outdoor activities and a diversified outdoor industry. To achieve this mission, we maintain a fleet a canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards so paddlers can develop the skills and strengths required for technical competency and athletic excellence.
